Puerto Princesa 2016: Puerto Princesa City Tour

8:23 PM

Our last day in Puerto Princesa was alloted for the city tour. Usually, city tour availed through a travel agency cost around PHP 600.00 each but being a budget traveler that I am, I looked for a cheaper option and luckily there is. On our past 2 days in the city, we met tricycle drivers who offered us a cheaper way of touring the city through their tricycle for PHP600.00 for up to 4 passengers. We're only two but its cheaper than paying PHP1,200.00, plus you can go on your own pace, stay in one place longer or if you wanna leave right away you can, or if you wanna skip a certain place, you can.

We hired the service of Kuya Ramy for our city tour because his tricycle looks new and there is one place he offered that is not usually included in the city tour unlike the others who just go on the usual place. Kuya Ramy picked us at Go Hotel at around 9:00am I think and off we start our last day's activity, Puerto Princesa city tour.

Kuyba Almoneca

Entrance fee here is PHP100.00 each that includes the tour guide because the place is surprisingly huge. Its just us when we went here since this is not included in the usual city tour. What's special about Kuyba Almoneca is the Holy Face and the underground spring water pool which is really something else.

The Holy Face
The guide said we could swim in the pool. The water is really refreshing but its our last day and our flight after the tour so as much as we want to, we can't and we don't have clothes too.
Underground spring water pool
A small chapel which is also used for weddings.

Fish Spa is also included in the entrance fee. Its my first time to try this so my feet can't say long underwater. I'm just not sure if it hurts or tickles my feet. :)
Fish Spa
Crocodile Farm

I honestly didn't wanna include Crocodile Farm in the itinerary since we've already been to Crocodile Farm in Davao and I just don't enjoy seeing crocodiles. But since were gonna pay for the whole tour, we decided to just go and in my opinion, the crocodile farm in Davao has a lot more crocodiles than here. But we did enjoy the tour and had fun posing with the live crocodile and the huge crocodile bone at the entrance.

Mitra's Ranch

We've only been to two places but were already tired because its too hot and Mitra's Ranch is a perfect place to rest. Nothing much to do here but savor the peaceful place and relax. Entrance fee is PHP 20.00 each.

Baker's Hill

Baker's Hill is the most popular pasalubong stop in Puerto Princesa because of its cheap but good quality and freshly made products. Their best seller I think is their hopia which is 50.00  only for a box of 10. We also had our lunch here where we finally tried Puerto Princesa's famous crocodile sisig. Nothing different with the taste though. We also had chicken cordon bleu which I really like because I just seldom eat cordon bleu so when there's cordon bleu on the menu, I just had to order it.

Immaculate Concepcion Cathedral

Plaza Cuartel

Our last stop before we finally go back to Manila is the Plaza Cuartel located just across the Immaculate Concepcion Cathedral.  Plza Cuartel looks just an ordinary park but it has its dark history. The plaza is the site of Palawan Massacre where during the World Ward II, more or less 150 American Soldiers was killed by the Japanes by burning them alive.  Some 11 soldiers escaped and survived the mass execution.

We only stayed here for a few minutes and then went back to Go Hotel to pick-up our luggage, change clothes then went straight to the airport.

If you're travelling in a group of 4 or less, going on a tricycle tour is a much cheaper way of touring the city. Yes, its much comfortable going on an air conditioned van but is just a few hours anyway. You get to save money and allot that for some other things and you get to enjoy and see the city like the locals.
