Pandan Beach Resort x Antique Tour
11:31 PM
My colleagues and I decided to take a little break away from irate passengers ( hashtag airport life), but traveling for us doesn't mean we need to spend a lot for a vacation that we needed. And even though we have to deal with irate passengers most of the time, some passengers could also be an angel in disguise :)
We decided to visit Antique because 1. one of our passengers offered that we can stay in her resort 2. one of my colleague has a friend who happens to be living in Antique and 3. the place doesn't sound to be on the list for a tourist's places to visit so why not give ourselves a little adventure in this so-called alternative to Boracay, and 4. those three sounds like we won't be spending too much.
After our shift, we flew to Kalibo and from there, a staff from the resort where we'll be staying for the night is already waiting for us.

Touchdown Kalibo! |
Luckily, the resort owner is on the same flight so we were able to have a little chit chat with her when we landed. We stayed in Pandan Beach Resort in Pandan, Antique- a one hour drive from Kalibo Airport.
When we arrived in the resort, I noticed that it is a small resort and no swimming pool. But, the place is very clean and the decorations are very native and unique and is very homey.
We stayed in Malay and Buruanga rooms because we have a guy/gay with us, so he stayed in a different room just beside ours.
The Malay room has 3 single and 1 double bed where the girls stayed and the Buruanga room has 1 double bed and 1 single bed where our guy/gay friend stayed. The rooms are air-conditioned, has a television, a cabinet to place your things and own bathroom. Notice that paddle on the wall? I think every room has that as the resort's signature design. The resort has different type of rooms, deluxe, cottage, dormitory type and nipa hut.
Since its almost late at night when we arrived, we just had our dinner and decided to just explore the resort the next day.

PBR at night |
The resort has its own restaurant where we had our breakfast. The restaurant is an open area where you can feel the cold breeze of the air and hear the sound of the ocean waves which is very refreshing and takes away all the stress.

And my favorite part of the resort, the Hammock!!
The rooms has a mini living room/ area outside if you wanted to just sit and feel the breeze and hear the waves. And it made the resort very homey, I felt like I have my own vacation house.
And then, my colleague's friend already fetch us to have a little adventure around Antique. So we checked- out of the resort and say goodbye and thanks to the staff.

If you had the chance of staying overnight, you'll see fog coming out of your mouth when you exhale!"
3. Jawili Falls
Jawili Falls runs through 7 catch basins resembling small pools perfect for swimming. Unlucky us, during our visit, there is no waterfall running to be found. The place has been developed for the convenience of the tourists, there are shower rooms, restaurant, picnic huts and grilling stations.
4. Jawili Beach
5. Afga Point Lighthouse
Agfa Point Lighthouse is a modern-type lighthouse located on top of a hill which serves as a guide for fishermen passing by the village's rough coast.
The province of Antique may not be as popular as the nearby Boracay, but it has its own beauty and charm. If you wanted a different kind of destination and adventure, go and try visiting Antique.
