Coron, Palawan: Day1 - Coron Town Tour

1:15 AM

Gaaaaahhhh! I can't believe I'm back here in Manila and our vacation in Palawan is over. But I'm still overwhelmed and is having hang over with our trip. Coron, Palawan is indeed heaven on earth and we were so blessed we're able to visit this place.

I booked a flight to Busuanga last December 2012. We waited and saved money for 7 months. That long! Can you imagine the excitement when August finally arrived? I kept on praying that The Lord will bless us with good weather. And He did! We had an amazing weather the whole tour. We're lucky and blessed. Thank you Lord.

Anyway, I booked a flight for boyf and I bound to Busuanga thru Cebu Pacific Air's promo fare last December 2012. Roundtrip airfare (MNL-USU-MNL) plus 15 kilos baggage going to Busuanga and 20 kilos to Manila cost me 2,800PHP only for the both of us.
Itinerary

Boyf picked me up at work by 6:00AM and had breakfast. We went to the airport by 9:00AM and arrived just in time for our flight's check-in counter to open. We waited in line for almost 30 minutes before we can finally check-in. Boarding time is not until 11:45AM. We were never bored since there's wifi in the airport, but then Cebu Pacific announced the delay in our flight because of the late turn around of the aircraft from Busuanga. Gaaaah! What's new?? We waited again for another 30 minutes I think? We reached Francisco B. Reyes (Coron, Busuanga) Airport before 2:00PM.

Checked-in

Busuanga Airport
While waiting for our baggage, we had photo ops inside the airport. Its pretty small, but I think it can already accommodate the number of passengers since flights are one at a time.

Upon exiting the airport, there are travel operators and pick-up transfers arranged by the hotel waiting for you. We didn't had a hard time looking for ours since names are written in a white board that can be easily seen. We were picked-up by a van together with other Korean guests. Travel from the airport to the hotel is a no hassle less than 45 minutes. We reached Apartelle De Gabrielle, our home for 4 days and 3 nights at around 2:35PM. Upon approaching the front desk, Sir Rowie, the one who arranged our itinerary accommodated and informed us of the tour schedule. We had enough time before the City Tour the same day at 3:30PM. We rest a bit, fixed our things, and freshen up for the tour together with two other girls, Jessa and Nina, staying also in the Apartelle.

Okay! Let's get the tour started.

Coron Souvenir Shop

Coron Souvenir Shop is just nearby the Apartelle. We just looked around since its just our first day and our first tour. There are lot of items for souvenir but are a bit pricey (not until I was able to roam around the town) I think since we even bought a shirt in Puerto Galera for only 90php each.

Mt. Tapyas Trekking

One important thing you must bring in trekking Mt.Tapyas is water! This is a must if you're not into trekking or mountain climbing. Its very tiring I'm telling you. But the view at the top is very rewarding and breathtaking overlooking coron Town, you would never want to go down.

Maquinit Hotspring

Our last destination for the city tour is Maquinit Hotspring. We were all sweating and dead tired from the trek to Mt. Tapyas and thinking that a hotspring is not a good idea. But were wrong! The hotspring relieves all the pain caused by the trek. In no time, I can barely feel that I just came from a trek.

After the tour, we went back to the hotel dead tired but satisfied and excited for our next day tour, Island Hopping! Yay! Our couple friends, Regine and Faysel are already in the hotel  chillin' in their room since they weren't able to join us for the city tour because of their afternoon and delayed flight, also! We just had our dinner together and tell them stories of our city tour while eating. We had our dinner in Centro Coron that has pretty affordable menu. P.S, I will have a separate post for where we ate in Coron.
Dinner :)
After having our dinner, we walked to the public market and there, we already found cheap items for pasalubong and souvenir. We already shopped on our first day! Nyay! But glad we did. :) One thing I realized, when you had the time for something, go for it! grab the opportunity because you'll never know if same opportunity will come your way. You know where I'm coming from? That's just because its hard to shop souvenir/ pasalubong if you have a lots of family, friends and office mates back here in Manila. :) The moment I had the time to shop, I already did. LOL.

We went back to the hotel and call it a day. Next day's activity is Island Hopping.

xx, Joyce
