I never thought that by just walking around the vicinity of the hotel where we stayed, are lot of restaurants, different types, different cuisine, different ambiance. So here's a list of the restaurants we dined-in while we're in the City of Golden Friendship.
- Bro's Grill Sisig & BBQ
This is the first restaturant we saw while walking. We're so hungry at 4PM and we haven't had lunch so we gave in. We ordered sisig and shake. Meals here are so cheap that I think we paid less than a hundred pesos each.
The restaurant is small but has second floor to accommodate more people and is also good for late night drinking session.
- Bowties & Butter
This small, cute restaurant attracts me while I was just walking around because of its colorful designs, but it was closed that time so I made sure to go back. This is good for after meal or afternoon snack. They only had few on the menu but are cheap.
- Francesca's
Francesca's is a very homey restaurant. I think its a huge house and they transformed the first floor into a restaurant. We liked the restaurant because of all the quotations/ verses written and pieces on the wall. We couldn't believe when we saw the menu, restaurants here in Cagayan De Oro are very very cheap but tastes really good.
- Barkadahan Grill
- Bubzie's Grill & Chill
I dined here for about three-times because of their really cheap but good food. They had the cheapest baby back ribs baby. They had lemonades in different colors too.

- Chez Marie Bar Cafe & Restaurant
After dinner, my friend and I decided to have some dessert. Its payday anyway, so why not treat ourselves a little more after hours of work. So we had cakes in Chez Marie Bar Cafe & Restaurant. But their cakes are more expensive than our dinner that night but the blueberry cheesecake is really good.
- Mom's Pig Out
- Starbucks
- Army Navy
- The Backyard Grill
The Backyard Grill is located beside Francesca's. We dined here twice, for lunch after work and dinner the other day. This also offers baby back ribs a little expensive than Bubzie's but with a bigger serving. I love the artsy wall of the restaurant. This also offers the first-time-I-heard-of "sizzling dessert", a brownie with ice cream on top in a sizzling plate.
- Red Tail Shrimps & More
I saw in an article that this restaurant is the best seafood restaurant in town. Lucky that we're able to try this on our last night in CDO. Its almost closing when we got here so we only had a little time to think of our orders. The food are a little expensive but are really good. Too bad I only tried this once. They had lot of offerings in their menu and all looks too tempting not to order. When in Cagayan De Oro, this restaurant is a must.
- Candy's
Candy's from its name looks like a dessert place. It is, but it also offers dishes like pizza and rice meals. This is located in Centrio, an Ayala Mall in CDO. After having our lunch, we had cakes here for dessert. Slice of cake cost PHP150.00 and up.
- Seaking Garden Restaurant
And of course, Seaking Garden Restaurant, the restaurant inside Grand City Hotel where we stayed. Whenever we feel so tired and don't want to eat at all, this is where we eat for dinner. Being inside the hotel, their menus are somehow expensive so we don't usually eat here, just a few times.
Of all the restaurants we tried while in town, I can say that all of those are value for money. Expensive or cheap restaurants, they all satisfied our taste buds. There are still lots to try in CDO so I wonder if I should go back here again to explore more?
